New Bodle results published in Journal of the Society for Information Display.
The Journal of the Society for Information Display has published new developments from the team at Bodle Technologies. This new publication describes an optically genuine, full colour, static demo that confirms the outstanding physical performance that is achievable through Bodle’s SRD® display technology. The demo was created via normal lithographically defined RGB sub-pixels. Pale and vivid versions of the RGB sub-pixels were deposited using ordinary cleanroom deposition processes, together with the corresponding black matrix representing a top shutter for greyscale.
The image quality of the demo can be seen to be comparable to that of high quality colour printing - no enhancement in contrast or brightness was applied to this picture – with a wide colour gamut and high luminosity. The image quality clearly exceeds that produced by any existing colour reflective display technology.
The viewing angle dependence of the image is minimal, a further consequence of the strong ultra-thin film interference effect used in SRD® technology, rather than conventional bragg type interference.
